Whilst the January rush has finished for another year there is plenty to get on with. For starters, there are those businesses who might be late filing their returns due to Covid (luckily HMRC has waived fines for late tax returns until the end of February). Then there are VAT returns, annual accounts, payroll, business planning… the list goes on and on!
2020 was a difficult year for so many small businesses. And the added complexities of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, and other Government support initiatives meant that our accountants were working around the clock to help their clients – this is likely to continue through 2021, as we still feel the effects of the pandemic.
So there is no respite for your local accountant, despite the tax season passing!
