First of all from all of us at AIMS we would like to wish you a Happy New Year and a prosperous one too.

It’s the time of the year where you need to place a lot of focus on tax issues and other regulations. I know it is a bore but it should not be a headache if you are on top of it – after all like Christmas these tax deadlines come every year at the same time.

January is a busy time with the online Self-Assessment deadline and amendments to 2013/14 tax returns and by February private company accounts must be filed at Companies House for accounting periods ending in April 15.

Now, I’m sure you’re busy running and developing your business but your accountant should already be on top of these deadlines. If you don’t have one then bear in mind that this is a busy period for them so you’d better get your skates on – an accountant should always be part of your plan.
