We are still bombarded by comments from many journalists and politicians that “things are bad”. Yes they are difficult but equally there are some serious success stories. The other day I came across a young business which produces caricatures on the web (www.billandbenthecartoonmen.com). Equally, there are reports that independent businesses have grown by 2.4%; this is a rate three times more than large chains. For example the beauty sector has definitely shown a growth and some business types are enjoying growth rates of 16.5%.

So with good planning and with the right resources (both financially and with professional advice) and with a great deal of enthusiasm you may be able to find an opportunity and start a successful business.

I think it all comes back to the old saying that a glass is either half full or half empty and for my part I would rather have the half full glass.
