I spoke about this before the election and I wanted to touch upon this subject again as it’s one very close to me and I never lose hope that the Government will listen.
Lots of promises have been made to small business owners and we all know that promises are often broken, so let’s take a look at what they want from the Government. To start with they want regulation reduced, a simpler tax system, better access to finance, reformed business rates, help with creating more jobs, lower energy costs and the list goes on. They’re not being unreasonable because ultimately all of this will help boost our economy which let’s face it the Government needs.
What it all boils down to is keeping everything simple which the Government should use to its advantage – and why? More small businesses will be created because it’ll be easier to get on the ladder and will help with the Government’s long-term economic plans. The Government need businesses to thrive and should encourage them to do so but they need to play their part which is essential. It’s any Government’s duty to help local businesses and take away certain burdens but only if they step up and keep to those promises and listen – then it’s a win-win for everyone.
