I know that some of you may be tired of hearing about Google and its tax saga but it seems that the powers that be – our MPs have now become involved and have launched their own inquiry in to the country’s tax system. Perhaps the Google controversy did us a favour as it seems to have opened up a can of worms which I think is a good thing.
You see it means that our “complicated” tax system will be looked in to – which can only be a good thing as a shake-up is in order, wouldn’t you agree?
We are known for having some of the most complex tax laws and in theory it should boil down to everyone paying their fair share and paying what they owe – it really is that simple but unfortunately it’s not. I do worry that this could mean more regulation, something that small businesses already struggle with but on the other side of the coin the government should be doing more to create a fair and less complicated system.
If you like the way we think – you will like the way we work.
